Pathetic Peripatetic

Most of my followers expect Doctor Who related posts, I made a Police Box Ring that I occasionally post about, and my username is a reference to a specific strip of an out-of-print newspaper comic (Some people got it!). I grew up with video games and television (people like this are rare, I'm sure) and am currently employed as a jeweler CAD technician. Quite often those two things interject. You can email me at GinoArizmendi@artgemsjewelers.com

I don’t think I ever actually mentioned this, but the website ships to the UK now (and has been able to for about a month).

The issue before was that, while the shipping to the UK option was enabled on the shipping settings, the product settings had shipping to the UK disabled. I had to enable both.

An Engagement Story:

Christmas Eve, my four year old was exhausted from such a long, exciting day of traveling to Houston, Texas to have our first family Christmas with my boyfriend (Richard) and his family. Richard’s step-brother and his fiancee were going to be having Christmas Day with the fiancee’s family so we wanted to take advantage by having all the adults open their presents together that night while my daughter slept.

We went through all of the gifts together, having quite a nice time, and when everything else had been opened, Richard brought me another bag from under the tree. Inside was a TARDIS safe. He pulled a key from his pocket and I opened it to find a ring box inside. The whole time, I’m breathlessly saying “oh my gawd!” He picked up the ring box, got on one knee, and begins his speech about these last nine months and how he’s a better man because of our relationship. By the time he’s shakily opened it, I’m crying too hard to even see the ring. I’ve managed to hold my tongue and not cut him off with my incredibly ardent yesses.

We hug, kiss, cry, make everyone else cry. Then champagne is popped and we spend the next hour talking about family past, present, and future, crying and hugging a bit more, and making plans for the rest of the week. I had always thought holiday proposals were hokey but my Richie always knows me better than myself. It couldn’t have been more perfect or filled my heart with more happiness. ♥ Here’s to 2013 and our new beginning!

She will say no. Dozens of relationships destroyed because he did not propose in this way and Congress is powerless to stop it.
Don’t risk it.

December Gift Giving Season Deadline!

All of our jewelry is hand made by skilled workers in the Chicagoland area. Thanks to the popularity of our pieces, they’re almost perpetually low in stock or on backorder. Most of the time the rings are sold before they’re even completed.

To get your piece guaranteed delivered in time for Christmas you need to place your order before or on November 26 at noon central for those in the election weary USA. International people should order even sooner since some packages breeze through customs while others take weeks (even going to the same country).

The necklace sells for $149 and the ring starts at $395.

The Buyer’s Guide to Doctor Who Wedding Accessories

Even more good news. There is an article titled “The Buyer’s Guide to Doctor Who Wedding Accessories” that mention’s that ring of mine.

Before you have a wedding, you’ve got to ask the girl or guy if they’re interested in doing an awful lot of running with you. Jeweler and CAD tech Gino Arizmendi designed this ring that symbolizes the Doctor’s TARDIS. The main gem is a one carat Princess Cut stone in the center, but both sides use other stones to recreate the Police Box sign, windows, and instructions. Arizmendi makes them with diamonds or sapphires, and a men’s ring is also available.

Don’t forget: If you have a DW wedding to just bail near the end with no explanation, true Pond style. Then return 20 minutes later having aged 10 years.

Buzzfeed.com compiled a list where my ring made #6 of 30 Geeky Engagement Rings.

(Thanks to SafetyCanary for telling me)

If I’ve posted these pictures before, let me know.

The alternative mens band for those who do not want a center stone. Modeled after the Police Box commonly found around London in the 1960s.

I read on Wikipedia once that Police Boxes were invented in Chicago. I don’t know if it’s true but if it is, that means I’m closer to the Police Box homeland than if I were in the UK.

14K White Gold ring with Sapphires in the empty inlays.

Not available on the website (yet?).

What’s interesting is how having a website absolutely kills the incoming emails. For the first time since March I have less than 10 unread emails.

I foresee sleep in my future.

Customized Ring for “K.D.”

Over the weekend while I was answering emails, doing other work related stuff (but not related to the PBRs), I came across this email. A while back someone emailed me asking to put an emerald topaz in the ring, which required modifications as you’ll soon see. They bought a matching ring box to go with it.

I want to let you know that I really appreciate the creativity and excellent quality of the ring that you have crafted for me.  When I first saw this ring on facebook, I knew that it would be really special to my girlfriend.  I know it has taken quite a while of back and forth emailing all of the details to finalize the ring.  I really appreciate your patience, and even more, I am super happy that it came out so good.  I want you to know that I am doing all I can to promote you and your business, and just really am enamored with this ring.  I proposed to my girlfriend with this ring, because she is a huge Dr. Who fan (her family is also really into it) and I scored some major points for that, but it wouldn’t have been possible without you having this ring as a possibility in the first place.  Thank you for making this a possibility :)  Here are a few pictures to go along with how it was presented, and how it looks.
