I’m working on a personal project where I’m placing pins over the areas where I sold one of the police box rings*. I just finished 2012 sales and looking at the map it seems to coincide mostly with the US population density maps. A bunch of pins are bunched up in New England, and then there’s Maine. Maine did not like me in 2012. There are a few rings in the UK (which is expected), but more than I thought would be for Calgary, Canada. Not one sale in my home state Illinois for that first year. Although I do recall the crack necklace being sold and shipped to a guy in Canada, who then gave it to his girlfriend who lives in Illinois, and she knew my little brother.
It’s been years since I really looked at a map of the world, but like really look. For one thing Kazakhstan is a lot larger than I thought, for some reason I thought it was more of an Italy sized country—but it is not. I think it’s even bigger than India or about the size of Alaska. I was completely surprised by the existence of Svalbard and Franz Josef Land.
And not to spoil the 2013 pictures, but my rings are on 5 of the 7 world continents, the two missing being Antarctica and Africa. Something I didn’t realize until I was halfway of the 2013 pin placing. All thanks to THIS POST where I was bored.
